South African Tourism has revealed the new Meetings Africa look and feel. This rebrand is to represent the sector’s renewed energy leading up to the 17th edition of the show.

Meetings Africa is a gathering of various Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) stakeholders.

SA Tourism Acting CEO, Themba Khumalo said they are motivated to rebuild and grow stronger than the sector was before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our new look represents this new injection of energy and is an emphasis on the importance that we place on connections,” he said.

According to Khumalo, Meetings Africa’s aim is to contribute towards the success of the continent’s economy. He went on to say the country will use this platform to forge more partnerships with the most influential buyers in the world.

To date, 275 buyers representing 45 countries have been approved to participate at this year’s instalment. A total of 305 exhibitors from 15 African countries will be showcasing at this event. Beyond this, South African Tourism has partnered with all nine provinces to be part of the exhibition.

Khumalo also highlighted that tourism is a critical contributor to the country’s staggering economy.

“We remain optimistic for the year ahead both from a business events and leisure tourism perspective. We will continue to use our strategic platforms such as Meetings Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba in May to promote our country,” concluded Khumalo.
