For The Sake

2 min read

This piece is to set tone for the week. It is to assure my pens that their bleeding is never in vein. Especially these days - seeing that vanity has taken centre stage. The full title is For The Sake Of Publishing. I'll make it a book when I turn 50.

The last time you read something one this platform was when I broke up with my previous employer. I want to lie and say “without a plan” but I had one. The only thing I did not have were guarantees that it would work out in my favour.

This is not a well-written blog post. It is a reflection piece. One I could recite as poetry without rhymes.

I have written many stories between then and now. Beautiful stories - some real; others gifted by those who through my flesh, live before and after today. For years I have believed that life is one of the best books I have ever read, A Novel In Real Time.

Today is the personification of this belief.

“It was a usual out of province Sunday. Breakfast in Mpumalanga’s Emalahleni was the perfect way to start the day.” - A Possible Extract.

Books aren’t always about the extraordinary. They are everyday stories we see as mundane until someone else narrates the story. They are people living, documenting and sharing their everyday wonders.

It’s a Sunday and I have work tomorrow morning.

Life Update

I resigned from my job without another one because it just did not serve my spirit. This is a privilege I wish for all of us. The plan was to frequent the mountains as often as Umphafa Berg Tours booked me as their professional guide. The universe decided that I deserved to rest. It landed me other roles that led me to my current permanent role. It always work out for the protagonist.

This blog post is a ramble. It’s a this & yap session to get me back into the groove of Sunday publishing. Generally, the sign off would be a hopeful stanza. But as said earlier, vanity is performing so you’re welcome for the lovely read.

Congratulations on having me back.
